Practical tips for laying a runner
Measure the walking distance in advance: Determine how many metres of runner you need. Measure the distance from the car park or the gate to the door. Add a few metres for unevenness or an extra bend. This prevents the runner from being too short.
Lay the runner on a clean surface: Sweep the floor or path clean before rolling out the runner. Small stones or twigs can cause bumps. A smooth surface ensures a neat result. Our runners have an anti-slip layer, but a clean base always helps.
Roll out the runner in the walking direction: Start at the entrance and roll towards the arrival point. This keeps any seams or overlaps out of sight. Smooth the runner with your hands or feet. Check that there are no creases.
Secure the ends: Tape the edges down with double-sided tape or use barrier posts to keep the runner in place. This prevents it from shifting with heavy foot traffic. In bad weather, a runner can curl up slightly at the edges. Tape quickly solves that.
