Profdek is a self-adhesive protective fleece specially developed for temporary floor protection during work. Thanks to the adhesive side on the underside it stays firmly in place, while the waterproof top layer prevents moisture and dirt from reaching the surface.

The material is vapour-tight and shock-absorbing. That means protection against liquids and against mechanical loads such as falling tools or intensive foot traffic. At the same time, Profdek is lightweight and easy to handle, even on larger surfaces or in project-based applications.

During renovations, painting and plastering or installation work, floors take a beating. Scratches, paint splashes and moisture can quickly lead to repair costs and delays. With Profdek you work in a controlled way and prevent unnecessary damage.

The protective fleece is suitable for hard indoor floors such as concrete, PVC, laminate and carpeting. It can also be applied neatly and safely on stairs. Please note: Profdek is not suitable for porous or highly absorbent floors and must not be applied to wet or freshly poured subfloors. Unsure about the surface? Then always test the product first in an inconspicuous spot.

Good preparation is essential. Make sure the surface is clean, dry, flat and dust-free. Remove dirt and grease residue for optimal adhesion and always switch off underfloor heating before installation.

Application is simple. Roll out the fleece with the adhesive side down and press it down evenly without creases. Working with multiple strips? Then allow about 10 centimetres of overlap. Do not lay it over cables, obstacles or raised areas to prevent tripping hazards, and check regularly that the fleece still adheres well.

Profdek can also be applied safely on stairs. Start at the top and work down step by step. Apply it tightly to both the tread and the riser and do not use loose pieces per step. Provide extra fastening at the top and bottom.

Profdek is reusable as long as it stays clean and intact. Clean the underside before reuse, fold the dry fleece with the adhesive sides together and roll it up neatly for storage. The protective fleece may stay in place for a maximum of three months. Protect it during use against high temperatures and direct sunlight to preserve its quality.
