Padel remains less popular in the Netherlands, building on the trend that has spread from countries like Spain, Mexico, and Argentina. This year, the enticing tournament returns to Amsterdam, where GJ Floors laid the striking red event carpet around the padel cages last year.
Tokyo red shone brightly last year from September 28th to October 2nd. This year, the WPT will once again take place in Amsterdam. One of the most eye-catching elements of the event will be the bright red carpet surrounding the two padel cages used for the tournament.
Installation in rounds
Last year, on September 24th, we headed to the Central Market Hall in Amsterdam early. We started with a piece of vinyl flooring for the kitchen. In no time, we cut the flooring to the correct length and width and attached it to the floor with double-sided tape.
Then it was time for the bigger job: the carpet around the padel cages. Our warehouse team had already cut and rolled it up. On-site, we unrolled it, cut it to the shape of the padel court, the chairs for the line judges, and some power outlets, and securely fastened it to the ground.
The second round of installation was spread over two days. The event carpet for the second padel cage was installed as soon as it was ready. The organizers also asked us to install flooring for seven additional changing rooms. We were happy to take on that challenge. On the second day, we returned to Amsterdam with a fuller truck to complete this impressive setup.

Guaranteed success
We expect the WPT Open in Amsterdam to be a resounding success once again. Last year, every day was sold out, and the event attracted approximately 20,000 visitors. Not only the world's elite padel players were present, but also well-known former professional footballers such as Arjen Robben, Ronald and Frank de Boer, Dirk Kuijt, and Robin van Persie. DEUX Agency is once again organizing this event in collaboration with Triple Double, Golazo Sports, and GJ Floors.
