The country's most charming ice rink has reopened at Museumplein in Amsterdam. You can skate carefree and enjoy true winter fun. At GJ Floors, we're also crazy about this quintessential Dutch tradition and are thrilled to be able to contribute to it.
Iron-strong flooring solution
Commissioned by the Ice Foundation For the second year in a row, we've equipped the Amsterdam restaurant and skate rental area with our black Dura. This outdoor carpet can withstand some wear and tear and is ideal for the large crowds the ice rink attracts. Dura is water-permeable and also offers excellent resistance to the wet blades that come with skating.
We not only supplied this sturdy product, but also installed it. It's right in the middle of the busy square, always a special experience for our installers. They certainly don't shy away from it, and the Dura looks great again this year.
Ice*Amsterdam Foundation
The foundation, in collaboration with the City of Amsterdam, has ensured the continuation of this centuries-old tradition for 10 years. Ice Amsterdam believes it's important that, in an age of speed and transience, there's room for carefree fun. That everyone can enjoy atmospheric winter activities. They serve the neighborhood, Amsterdam residents, Dutch people, and international tourists.
