Every year, the most famous ice rink in the Netherlands opens its doors on Museumplein in Amsterdam. For the Ice Amsterdam Foundation, we once again provided a durable flooring solution that can withstand wintry conditions and intensive use.

The challenge

Ice Amsterdam attracts large numbers of visitors daily. The catering area and skate rental continuously deal with wet skates, meltwater, and heavy foot traffic. The floor needed to be safe, durable, and weather-resistant, without compromising on appearance.Appearance also played an important role. In the middle of the iconic Museumplein, the entrance and catering zone needed to have a neat, professional, and modern look. The solution had to be seamless, easy to maintain, and resistant to rain, cold, and crowds.

The solution: a black Dura outdoor runner

For this project, our black Dura outdoor runner was chosen. This runner combines a powerful, modern appearance with a strong synthetic quality that is resistant to rain, sun, and intensive use.

The deep black color provides a sleek and professional look in the catering area and at the skate rental. Thanks to its dimensionally stable material, the runner lies perfectly flat, even with heavy foot traffic and wet skate blades. Moreover, the Dura is easy to clean, which is essential in a winter setting where moisture and dirt are constantly present.

In addition to delivery, we also handled the complete installation on-site. In the middle of the bustling Museumplein, this requires experience and precision. Our installers ensured that the Dura outdoor runner was installed neatly and safely, so visitors can enjoy their winter outing without worries.
